Kitadake

Kitadake (北岳, "North Peak") is the second tallest mountain in Japan. It is a more technical climb than Mount Fuji, and is usually done over two or more days. A popular option is to hike other nearby summits along the same ridge when climbing Kitadake.

Kitadake is in a protected area. You can not drive to it, although there are seasonal buses from both Kofu and Hayakawa leading to the trailhead.
